High school athletes throughout the Lowcountry are solidifying their plans to compete at the next level as the school year comes to a close.

Seven Hilton Head High student-athletes recently signed letters of intent, including a trio of NCAA Division I signees from the Seahawks’ cross country and track & field teams – Josh Williams (Georgia Tech), Mallory Liggett (Kentucky), and Ryan Moosbrugger (College of Charleston). Golfer Charlie Farrell signed with Lander, Boyce Kobleur signed to play baseball at Florence-Darlington Tech, and three-time state champion wrestler Billy Christie signed with Newberry.

A total of 12 Hilton Head High student-athletes have signed to compete at the next level this school year.

At Hilton Head Prep, another seven student-athletes signed letters of intent to compete in college, including four golfers – Alan Smith (Charleston Southern), Mikus Ming (Tennessee State), Aidan McCloskey (High Point), and Deanna Confessore (Palm Beach Atlantic) – along with tennis players Lindsay Zimmermann (Georgetown) and Divya Sharma (Washington, Mo.), and soccer standout Charlotte Covington (Sewanee).

Smith, Ming, McCloskey, and Confessore were among eight Junior Players Golf Academy students who signed, joined by Jerry Christensen (University of Tampa), Bunker Funderburgh (Mary Hardin-Baylor), Lucy Hou (Cincinnati), and Vivian Yen (Cal State East Bay).

Local high schools are invited to submit their signings to editor@hiltonheadmonthly.com by May 15 for inclusion in next month’s issue.
