The 2016 “Eat It & Like It” Foodie Awards took place recently at the Brice Hotel in downtown Savannah. Host Jesse Blanco presented awards to restaurants and celebrated the fifth season of the Emmy Award-winning show about contemporary and traditional food served in both out of the way joints and fine dining establishments throughout the Lowcountry.
Winners on Hilton Head Island and in Bluffton included HH Prime at The Omni Resort in Palmetto Dunes, which won “Best Steak;” HH Prime’s sports bar, XO Sports Spirits, which shared “Best Burger” with Betty Bombers in Savannah; chef/owner Amada Russ’ Pomodori, which won “Best Italian;” Corner Perk, which won “Best Coffee Roaster;” The Bluffton Room, which won “Best Place to Blow An Entire Paycheck;” and for the second consecutive year, chef/owner Robert Plantadis’ Midnight Baker won “Best Bakery.” To see a complete list of winners, go to www.eatitandlikeit.com.
