Just because you can’t gather with a group of like-minded people doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate Earth Day on April 22.
This year’s event — the 50th anniversary of the holiday — will be celebrated online with Digital Earth Day, according to the Earth Day Network.
“Amid the recent outbreak, that means using our voices to drive action online rather than in person,” said Kathleen Rogers, president of Earth Day Network.
HILTON HEAD CELEBRATES WITH POPULAR ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
Officially, St. Patrick’s Day is March 17, but Hilton Head Island likes to get a jump on the celebration. More than 25,000 people are expected to line Pope Avenue on March 15 for the annual parade — one of the oldest in honor of St. Patrick in South Carolina.

ANNUAL MONTHLONG EVENT PAYS TRIBUTE TO NATIVE ISLANDERS’ HERITAGE
The Hilton Head Island Gullah Celebration is woven into the fabric of the Lowcountry; this year’s 24th annual event is no exception: It’s a monthlong series of events capturing the spirit and significance of Gullah culture.
