Beaufort Memorial Hospital receives children's books from island bookstore

booksBeaufort Memorial Hospital recently received two boxes of new children’s books from Waldenbooks, in the Mall at Shelter Cove on Hilton Head Island.
The bookstore sponsored a project offering their customers the opportunity to help make books available to pediatric patients at BMH. Customers chose the books to be donated to the hospital, which were delivered to the hospital early this week. One customer also purchased stuffed bunny rabbits to be given to pediatric patients on Easter.
The items will be distributed to children hospitalized in the pediatric unit, to parents of newborns through the hospital’s Born to Read program, and to patients served by Beaufort Memorial’s HealthLink for Children pediatric rehabilitation program.
“Special thanks to Waldenbooks and their customers for this thoughtful and generous donation to our youngest patients and their families,” said BMH Foundation Executive Director Alice Moss. “This type of support goes to the heart of what we strive to do for our patients, which is to make them feel cared for, comfortable and ‘at home’, until they recover and are able to get back to their own homes.”
