Filing for the Ward 2 seat on Hilton Head Island Town Council previously held by Bill Mottel opens at noon April 17 and closes at 4:30 p.m. April 27. The election will be held June 30.
There is a $35 filing fee and candidates will need to pick up and complete forms in a filing packet from Town Hall that includes disclosure forms from the S.C. Ethics Commission.
Town Council seats are nonpartisan.
Ward 2 covers about 5,000 residents in Hilton Head Plantation and includes Hilton Head voting precincts 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D and 5A.
