Join Hilton Head Health (H3) for their second annual Devin’s Dash Memorial 5K on Saturday, Oct. 8th at 8am. Runners, walkers and stroller-drivers are welcome to participate in this 5K that takes place in Shipyard Plantation located at 14 Valencia Road, Hilton Head, SC 29928.
The annual fundraising event is held in honor of former staff member Devin Sheaffer, who lost his battle against cancer in Aug. 2010. Funds are raised through race participation, raffle ticket sales, sponsorships and donations. All event proceeds will benefit the Hilton Head Unit of the American Cancer Society (ACS).
In addition to the Devin’s Dash Memorial 5K walk/run, H3 will host a post race pool party featuring healthy smoothies and snacks, Zumba Latin dancing, Yoga stretching, award announcements and exciting raffle prizes. Raffle prizes include a free round of golf at Palmetto Dunes, complimentary cooking lessons in the new Culinary Arts Center at Hilton Head Health and many more.
Event registration is $30 until Oct. 7th and $35 on race day. There will be a packet pick-up expo held Friday, Oct. 7th from 3-7pm at H3 located at 14 Valencia Road, Hilton Head, SC 29928 for those who pre-register. The expo will feature some of the cast members from A&E’s HEAVY; a Cancer Prevention presentation by H3’s director of education, Bob Wright; exhibitors from local businesses; complimentary blood screenings, and guided tours of the new Culinary Arts Center at H3.
