Discount drug card available to residents

All Beaufort County residents now have access to a discount card that can help them cope with the high price of prescription drugs. The county government is making free discount cards available that offer average savings of 22 percent off the retail price of commonly prescribed medications.

The program is aimed at uninsured residents, but the cards are available to all residents regardless of age, income or existing health coverage, and can be used whenever a prescription is not covered by health insurance.
