Founded in 1944, Beaufort Memorial Hospital boasts a medical staff of more than 150 board-certified physicians. Affiliated with Duke Medicine for heart and cancer care, it also ranks among the top 10 percent in the nation for spine surgery and best in the region for overall orthopedics.
BMH is a nonprofit facility and reinvests all its excess revenues into its facilities to expand services and improve patients’ quality of care. One of its crowning advancements is the Keyserling Cancer Center, located in Port Royal. Designed under the direction of Duke Medicine, it offers area residents access to the latest cancer treatment technology and groundbreaking national clinical trials.

Coastal Carolina Hospital is part of the Tenet Healthcare Corporation. It is a fully-accredited facility with 41 acute care beds, and has been providing quality care for the community for more than five years. Services include the Center for Hyperbarics and Wound Care, emergency care, imaging, rehabilitation, surgical services, Stroke Care (MUSC REACH Stroke Network) and more. Hilton Head Hospital is part of the Tenet Healthcare Corporation. It offers a broad array of specialty programs and services, including cardiac care, orthopedics, ophthalmology, women's health and physical rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care. It has a Breast Health Center, Heart Center, Cancer Care (affiliated with MUSC Hollings Cancer Center), a Women’s Center and in-patient and out-patient surgical services. The hospital is certified for 93 acute care beds. In Bluffton, the Bluffton-Okatie Outpatient Center, offers a primary care center, outpatient surgery, radiology, laboratory, physical therapy, occupational health services, diagnostic cardiology and physician offices.
