Wine, women and a great time, all for a song — the Hilton Head Area Hospitality Association showcases the talents and expertise of the island’s food and beverage industry March 11-14 at the Wine & Food Festival 2009.

Message from the executive director

The island is pouring more into the 24th annual Hilton Head Island Wine and Food Festival.

In 2009 the Wine Centered Women of the Lowcountry have invited women from across the United States to visit the island in March to discuss wine. Our island visitors are offered an opportunity to taste exclusive high-end wines at the Grand Wine Tasting at the Sea Pines Country Club on Friday, March 13.

The popular Public Tasting and Auction transpires on Saturday, March 14 in a new venue at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. Attendees at the pubic tasting will sample a wide assortment of wines, witness competitive culinary events and enjoy gourmet treats and live music by the Chilly Willy band.

A new edition to the festival, the Great Chefs of the South, partners great wines, local chefs and guest chefs for scrumptious menu pairings on Thursday, March 12, followed by a cooking demonstration at noon on Friday.

In addition to the core activities of the festival many local restaurants have scheduled events at their respective businesses to join us in celebrating the island as a top Southeast culinary destination.
