Islander joins Organizing for America
Gillian Bergeron was recently named the national volunteer coordinator at Organizing for America (OFA) in Washington, D.C. OFA is a project of the Democratic National Committee that aims to promote the grassroots networking efforts created during President Barack Obama’s campaign. Bergeron is a 2002 Hilton Head High School graduate and University of South Carolina Beaufort alum. Bergeron joined “Draft Obama,” an organization that encouraged Obama’s bid for the presidency, after graduation. She later joined the Obama staff in 2007 as a volunteer coordinator for the Lowcountry, worked in three primary states and served as the deputy state field director in Colorado during the general election.

Callawassie Island to revamp marketing
A. Brown-Olmstead Associates, an Atlanta-based public relations firm, will bolster the marketing efforts of Callawassie Island, an 880-acre, member-owned community. The firm was chosen due to its knowledge of residential development and hands-on client approach.
Adagio Creative celebrates milestone
A Beaufort-based public relations and events management company celebrated one year of business last month. Adagio Creative was founded by Carrie Carper, who works with a variety of local businesses, organizations and artists.
Carper has worked with The North Carolina Dance Theatre, Queens University of Charlotte and the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce.
