Horizon increases staff
Laurie Brown has joined Horizon Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine. She received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Newberry College in 1995, a master’s degree in health sciences with emphasis on physical therapy and a bachelor of science degree in physical therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1998.
Elliot new counselor at St. Andrew’s

New executives at hospitals

Hilton Head Hospital and Coastal Carolina Hospital, both owned by Tenet, announced the appointment of new chief executive officers. Mark O’Neil Jr. has been named market chief executive officer of Hilton Head Regional Healthcare, which includes Hilton Head Hospital, Coastal Carolina Hospital and associated outpatient centers. William J. Masterton has joined Coastal Carolina Hospital as its chief executive officer.
Zoole new executive chef at Ocean Grille

Peter Zoole has joined The Ocean Grille as its new executive chef. After studying at the Cordon Bleu in Paris, Zoole worked under the direction of Chefs Robert Carter (Peninsula Grill) and Mike Lata (Fig) in Charleston. He refined his skills in San Francisco, where he was executive sous chef at the Michelin-starred Aqua. Also at Ocean Grille, Scott Light has been named general manager. He is the former manager of Boathouse II.
Lucchesi named director of golf at Colleton

Gray joins SCBT board
Herbert G. Gray has joined SCBT’s board of directors. He is the president and CEO of Grayco, a Beaufort-based company that primarily supplies building material and hardware for Beaufort and Jasper counties. He holds a bachelor of science degree in management from Clemson University.
Cooper named journal editor
Pam Cooper has been elected by the International Listening Association to serve as editor of its professional publication, “The International Journal of Listening.” Cooper teaches communications courses at the University of South Carolina Beaufort.
New board members named at Literacy Volunteers
At the November meeting of Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry Board of Directors, the following were elected to serve on the board for terms beginning in 2010: Romona Gaither, Beaufort; Linda Hennessey, Hilton Head; and Linda Hoffman, Beaufort. At that same meeting, the following officers were elected: Flo Rosse, president; Tom Wertheimer, vice president; Sansing McPherson, secretary; and Pat Wallace, treasurer. Rhame named assistant GM at Hampton Lake
