New restaurant opens in Okatie

Diane's Pub and Grill at 1108-C Argent Blvd. in Okatie is now open for business. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays. Golf Digest has announces scholar winners

The winners of the 2010 Golf Digest Scholars program, in partnership with Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy, are Harrison Taylor of Shallotte, N.C., and Bria’ Sanders of Cordova, Tenn. Approximately 400 student-athletes submitted essays to the program describing why they should be voted the Golf Digest Scholar of the Year to have the opportunity to attend the Hank Haney IJGA on Hilton Head Island.

Oak Advisors names scholarship winner

Oak Advisors, LLC, a registered investment advisor on Hilton Head Island, has awarded Hilton Head Christian Academy senior Erika Sonberg the 2010 Oak Advisors Scholarship of Excellence. The annual scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry and is awarded to local qualified high school seniors planning to attend an accredited college or university and major in business or economics. 

Concours awards grants to local groups

Organizers for the Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival recently presented more than $15,000 in grants to local community organizations. HH hospital wins award for heart treatment

Hilton Head Hospital has received the Get With The Guidelines Heart Failure Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association for its excellence in the treatment of patients with heart failure. In other news, the hospital will be recognized in the US News & World Report magazine for its Gold Level award achievements by the American Heart Association for both coronary artery disease (awarded March 2009) and heart failure.
