The Greenery, Inc., recently won the 2009 Platinum Award from the Savannah Apartment Association for Best Overall Landscape Project and Best Overall Landscape for its work at The Oaks on Wilmington Island. Island calendar wins award
South Art, Inc., a publisher and distributor of postcards, books and souvenir items, won four product quality awards at the Souvenir Wholesale Distributors Convention in Scottsdale, Ariz. One of the awards was for the 2010 Hilton Head Island Calendar.

County calendar winner named
A photo by Barre Wright of Bluffton has been selected for the cover of the 2010 Beaufort County Calendar, which will be available for sale next month. The calendar project began in 2006 as a way to increase awareness about the Beaufort County Rural and Critical Land Preservation Program. The calendar will be available for sale at Beaufort County Treasurer’s offices, Barnes & Noble, May River Gallery, the Hilton Head Island Chamber Visitor’s Center, Coastal Discovery Museum and at www.bcgov.net.
Holmes wins literacy award
Dorothy Holmes Anderson is the 2009 recipient of the Bill Bligen Champion of Literacy Award. Nominees for award are area residents who have used their personal influence to champion the cause of adult literacy.
Danyi earns accreditation

Hargray honored by museum
The Coastal Discovery Museum is honoring Hargray Communications by placing a commemorative plaque in the Discovery House at Honey Horn, and naming Hargray as sponsor of the museum’s permanent exhibit gallery.

Hopkins recipient of NAMI award
