AAUW Scholarship

The Scoop: The Hilton Head Branch of the American Association of University Women is offering three individual scholarships of $500, $1,000 and $1,500 to a woman, 25 years and older who lives in Beaufort County south of the Broad River, has a high school diploma or GED and is enrolled in a full- or part-time accredited program. The Scoop: Sallie Ann Robinson, author

Palmetto Quilt Guild
When/Where: 1 p.m. Jan. 21 and at 1 p.m. Feb. 18 at Christ Lutheran Church, 829 William Hilton Parkway
The Scoop: Joe Cunningham will present “The Ballad of Joe the Quilter” with guitar and storytelling Jan. 21. This is the story of Joe Hedley, an 18th-century tailor and quilter. Mickey Depre, a nationally known quilter, designer and author of many quilt design books, will be the guest speaker at the Feb. 18 meeting. Cost is $5. 540-1952
