Dog show

The Hilton Head Island Kennel Club presents the All Breed Dog Show from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 6-7 at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn.
More than 500 pure bred dogs will compete in conformation, obedience and rally. 
This two-day event begins on Saturday with the Puppy Groups and Best Puppy in Show, the Blessing of Our Dogs, and the Canine Good Citizenship Test.
Sunday is the Bred-by-Exhibitor Group and Best Bred-by in Show. 
Lunch and snacks will be available. Parking is $7 for one day, $10 for both days. For more information, call 837-7437 or 726-3237.

Verizon Heritage

The big event will be from April 12-18. This is the last year that Verizon will sponsor the tournament. So, community support is more important than ever.

Large Format Photography by Ben Ham
When/Where: Through Jan. 22 at the Walter Greer Gallery, Arts Center of Coastal Carolina
The Scoop: Award-winning landscape photographer Ben Ham works exclusively with an 8x10 wooden folding field camera, capturing images on black and white film. His work will be on display in an exhibit titled “The Journey: Large Format Photography by Ben Ham.” The collection includes limited-edition prints of the Rockies, the Southwest, California wine country and the Lowcountry. His work, sold only as fine art, is in private and corporate collections across the United States, as well as Canada, the UK, France and South Africa. www.artshhi.com.

When/Where: Hand-building class from 10 a.m. to noon, wheel class from 1-3 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Thursdays through Nov. 5 at ARTworks in Beaufort Town Center on Boundary Street in Beaufort

Concours needs volunteers

Volunteer opportunities for the Concours d’Elegance are available at both the Savannah/Hilton Head Speed Classic track event on Hutchinson Island, Savannah, and the Hilton Head Island venue at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn.

Volunteer positions include ticket and merchandise sales, beverage sales and bartending, security, parking and shuttles and information providers.
