Connor Christian and Southern Gothic headline a night of rowdy Southern rock Aug. 11 at the Big Bamboo in Coligny Plaza (Luke Mitchell also appears). Christian’s band, which has appeared on CMT, features a Russian fiddle player and mean covers of everything from “November Rain” to “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.” (If you miss them don’t worry — Christian and Attagirl will be back at the club on Aug. 25.) 843-686-3443, bigbamboocafe.comMain Street Youth Theatre will hold auditions for its upcoming fall production of the musical "Into the Woods" from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 12 at the studio, 25 New Orleans Road, Hilton Head. Actors and strong singers 12 years and older are needed. Monologues are not necessary, but attendees are asked to be prepared to sing 18 bars of an uptempo song and 18 bars of a ballad in the style of the show. Songs written by the composer, Stephen Sondheim, are preferred. Please bring sheet music if possible. Callbacks are scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Aug. 14.
