Long-time favorite local artist Amos Hummell has returned to Calhoun Street in Bluffton, opening a gallery in the Carson Cottage that showcases his latest work.
Hummell also plans to bring back his popular “Living Colors” performance art on the street, starting Dec. 6, following the annual Bluffton Christmas Parade. The Carson Cottage is at 38 Calhoun St., and is part of the cottages project headed by local developer Thomas Viljac.
Hummell is best known for his zany, colorful folk-art style images painted on wood, silk screen frames and “anything else I can find,” and his three-dimensional work in the form of sculptures and assemblages.
